Maceió, April 10, 2019 - Braskem will start this Thursday, 11, the inspection in the drainage system of the district of Pinheiro. Tecnopoços, a company hired by Braskem, will perform the analyses using semi-robotic cameras equipped with high technology for internal monitoring in horizontal pipelines such as galleries, sewage and drainage systems. 

The robotic cameras will go through the pipelines and will generate FULL HD videos in the brightest locations. In darker sections, there will be equipment that produces infrared images, thus ensuring the registration of all the details. Videos and photos will be sent automatically to a computer. A final report will be shared with the Municipality of Maceió.

Municipal Civil Defense and SMTT will support the activities, facilitating the access of the teams to streets and avenues, among other spaces, and will also be responsible for the receipt, installation, custody and maintenance of the equipment.

The inspection of the drainage in the district of Pinheiro is one of the actions proposed by Braskem and included in the Technical Cooperation Agreement signed among the company, the Municipality of Maceió, the Federal, State and Labor Public Prosecutor's Offices (MPF, MPE and MPT), and the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy (CREA-AL).

Since last year, when the problems  in the district of Pinheiro have worsened, Braskem has been collaborating with the authorities to identify the causes of the occurrences in the district. The company awaits the conclusion of the studies. In case it is confirmed that its activities caused the events in Pinheiro, the company will take responsibility for it in face of  the people of Alagoas, as it has done in over 40 years it has worked in the state.
