Commitment to Maceió

The implementation of measures for stabilization and drainage on Encosta do Mutange is included in the Socio-Environmental Agreement, which was signed in December 2020 by the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) and Braskem, with the participation of the State Public Ministry (MPE) and contributions of the Municipality of Maceió. These efforts are part of a broader initiative aimed at repairing, mitigating, and compensating for the effects of land subsidence in Maceió. All actions are under the supervision of public authorities.
Aiming to facilitate understanding and monitoring of these and other initiatives and programs developed since 2019, Braskem has compiled the 10 commitments to Maceió on a dedicated platform, focusing on social, urban, and environmental fronts. Soil stabilization and monitoring initiatives are outlined in commitment number 3 - "Soil stabilization and continuous monitoring in affected areas.
