At Braskem everyone is valued for being who they are. We created our Diversity and Inclusion Program for us to become increasingly more inclusive, making equal opportunities for all team members.
The program has three pillars:
Diversity
Human diversity is a set of cultural, biological, social, and economic characteristics that make each individual a unique being. A diverse group, community or organization is one where a diversity of these characteristics exists.
Equity
Equity consists of adapting the existing rule to an actual situation in order to make it fairer. It is a process that begins by recognizing this uneven starting point and undertakes to correct and resolve the imbalance.
Inclusion
Inclusion is the appreciation and inclusion of populations that, for historical and social reasons, face barriers in society and in companies. It is the act of creating an inclusive work environment, training, visibility, respect, and fair treatment for these populations.
Our work fronts
In addition to actions developed across the board, that is, addressing the issue as a whole, we have initiatives based on five work fronts directed towards inclusion and empowering historically marginalized groups.
RACE AND ETHNICITY
Progressively increase the number of people of color among team members and leaders.Ensure an inclusive and prejudice-free work environment.
GENDER EQUALITY
Promote gender equality through actions that foster women’s empowerment and equal opportunities.
SOCIOECONOMIC
Trough an Intern Program in some regions around the world, Braskem seeks the inclusion of young people between 18 and 24 years old in situations of social vulnerability, offering their first job opening and the development of education via and for work.
PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Promote an inclusive work environment and equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
LGBTQIA+
Promote an inclusive work environment, free from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, which guarantees equal opportunities and rights.
Recognition

Exame Diversity Guide
We have been recognized, for the second time in a row, as the best company in the Chemical and Petrochemical sector in practices for promoting diversity. We obtained above-average scores on all assessed items, including gender, people with disabilities, ethnic-racial and LGBTQIA+. The award is one of the results of our Diversity & Inclusion Program, which aims to promote a work environment free from discrimination.

Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index
For the third year in a row, Braskem has been chosen to be part of the index, which evaluates companies for their promotion of female leadership and talent, gender pay equality, and an inclusive culture. The indicator evaluates and highlights successful companies that are taking action to promote these aspects.

Principles for Women's Empowerment Award
An initiative of UN Women and the Global Compact, Braskem won the Women’s Empowerment Principles - WEPs award, in the bronze category.

Elected as one of the best companies to work for in the world.

UN Global Compact
Recognition by the Global Compact and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for good practices in Human Rights.

LGBT+ Business Forum
Signatories of the Declaration since 2018, in 2022 we signed the open letter to reaffirm our commitment to equity, respect, and appreciation of the LGBTQIA+ community.
The letter emphasizes the significance of including and retaining these individuals in the corporate setting and advocating for public policies that promote diversity and respect in the job market.
