Indexes and Recognition
In 2025, Braskem was selected as an Official Partner of the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, an initiative by UNESCO and WFEO that highlights organizations committed to innovation and sustainability. This recognition reinforces our role as a global reference in engineering and in solutions with lower environmental impact, especially in advancing SDG 12. The partnership acknowledges Braskem’s leadership in developing renewable-based products and initiatives aligned with the circular economy, such as the I’m green™ bio-based portfolio, and strengthens our contribution to a more sustainable future through science and technology.
CDP is an international non-profit organization formed by major investors interested in assessing companies’ performance in relation to environmental challenges such as climate change, water resources, and forests. In 2025, Braskem received an A score for both the CDP Water and CDP Climate indices.
Braskem responds annually to the ESG questionnaires from S&P and B3 (Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão), including the ISE (Corporate Sustainability Index) and ICO2 (Carbon Efficient Index), in line with our commitment to transparency. In 2026, Braskem once again joined the ICO2 portfolio of B3.
Responsible for evaluating and managing sustainability practices in supply chains. During 2025, Braskem ranked in the 96th percentile among sector respondents assessed, with a score of 76 out of 100 points.
Partnerships and associations
We were one of 37 companies that signed a manifesto registered with the President of the Republic to demonstrate concern for the country’s environmental policy, in particular for deforestation in the Amazon.
We are part of the Climate Forum, which provides incentives for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing energy efficiency. Further, we are not only part of the group of companies associated with the Ethos Institute since 2016, we are also a reference in their annual index of Integrity, Prevention and Combating Corruption.
We are part of a group of 57 major companies to join efforts to prevent the incorrect disposal of plastic waste in the environment.
We are partners in the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) Responsible Care program to ensure environmental and economic sustainability in our processes. In Brazil, the Responsible Care program is promoted by ABIQUIM - the Brazilian Association of Chemical Industries. Braskem has been a signatory of the Responsible Care® Program since it was founded in 2002.
We implement the 10 Principles of the Global Compact, relating to human rights, labor rights, environmental protection, and anti-corruption.
We are part of this World Bank initiative aimed at assisting in carbon pricing to redirect investment accordingly and manage investment risks and opportunities.
Platform of the UN Global Compact that brings together a community made up of more than 150 companies from all over the world committed to the advancement of water management.
