Braskem, a global petrochemical company that develops sustainable chemistry and plastics solutions to improve people's lives, is presenting updated Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies of its I'm greenT bio-based portfolio at K 2025, held in Germany. The portfolio includes high-density polyethylene (HDPE), ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), and polyethylene wax (PE wax). These analyses reaffirm the company's commitment to transparency, sustainable development, and innovation.

The Life Cycle Assessments were conducted in accordance with ISO 14040/44 and ISO 14071 standards, providing accurate analyses of the environmental impacts of Braskem's renewable solutions made from sugarcane ethanol. The results show that all I'm greenT bio-based products have a negative carbon footprint, confirming their role in carbon removal and climate change mitigation. Detailed benefits include:

• HDPE: Enables an approximate carbon footprint reduction of ~5 kg CO²e per kg compared to fossil-based alternatives.
• EVA: Enables an approximate carbon footprint reduction of ~4.5 kg CO²e per kg compared to fossil-based alternatives.
• PE Wax: Enables an approximate carbon footprint reduction of ~4.7 kg CO²e per kg compared to fossil-based alternatives.

The review incorporated recent data from 2020 to 2023, was independently audited, and used advanced methodologies such as Environmental Footprint 3.1, recommended by the European Commission.
