Braskem Supports Ceredo-Kenova War Memorial Restoration Campaign

$30,000 donation to support the Ceredo-Kenova War Memorial Community Center modernization and infrastructure improvements

Braskem announced today its support for the Ceredo-Kenova (CK) War Memorial Community Center located in Kenova, West Virginia. Braskem joined the Ceredo-Kenova War Memorial staff as well as community leaders at the center on March 12th to present a $30,000 donation to help enable facility modernization and infrastructure improvements.

Larry S. Moore, Ceredo-Kenova War Memorial Board Member commented, "On behalf of the Ceredo-Kenova War Memorial Board of Directors we would like to sincerely thank Braskem America for the generous donation to the restoration campaign. Braskem's dedication to our communities will allow us to improve the facility for our kids and veterans. The Board is forever grateful for your support."

Larry Kerrigan, Plant Manager at Braskem's Neal facility, stated, "We are proud to support the Ceredo-Kenova War Memorial Community Center restoration campaign with this donation of $30,000. Since its humble beginnings decades ago, the memorial community center has proven to represent an important bond between the Ceredo and Kenova communities, honoring the sacrifice and service of the World War II generation. Today the facility plays a vital role in supporting a wide range of community events and services, fulfilling its mission to serve as a 'living memorial'. We look forward to seeing the War Memorial Community Center continue to grow in strength for years to come."

Dedicated in 1950, the Ceredo-Kenova War Memorial Community Center was constructed as a memorial to the ultimate sacrifice of over 418,000 United States Armed Forces personnel that lost their lives in World War II and has served as a cornerstone of the community ever since.  Over its nearly seventy years in operation the Ceredo-Kenova War Memorial Community Center has been an epicenter for learning, entertainment, and fitness, benefiting over 4,000 people in the surrounding community annually. Braskem's donation will help fund the center's overall modernization and infrastructure improvements while helping to sustain the building as a multi-purpose facility for future generations.

The Braskem Neal production facility is located in Kenova, West Virginia employing over 100 people and producing polypropylene homopolymers used in a wide range of consumer product and manufacturing end markets.
