Cultura em Movimento Call for Proposals Offers Free Workshops to Help Applicants Prepare Their Project Proposals

Maceió, January 15, 2026 - Those interested in participating in the Cultura em Movimento project selection process have the opportunity to ask questions, learn how to structure their proposals, and receive support to finalize their submissions. The initiative aims to ensure that no applicant is left out of the call due to difficulties in preparing a project proposal. In-person training workshops will be offered. Submissions can be completed through the official website www.editalculturaemmovimento.com.br or via WhatsApp at +55 (82) 98750-0573.
The in-person workshops will help applicants with proposal writing. In this case, sessions will be held on the 15th, 16th, 20th, and 21st, with groups at 3:00 p.m. On the 15th and 21st, the workshop will also offer evening groups at 6:00 p.m. Both initiatives are free of charge. Help desk office hours with individualized guidance are available Monday through Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in person at Espaço Flexal (located in the same building as CRAS Bebedouro), and remotely via +55 (82) 98750-0573. Appointments are required, regardless of the service option selected.
About the Call for Proposals
Cultura em Movimento will qualify 104 projects, with award amounts ranging from BRL 15,250.00 to BRL 30,800.00, depending on the category selected. The call is aimed at Popular Culture and Afro-Brazilian Culture initiatives. The initiative includes cultural expressions such as Guerreiro, Pastoril, Bumba Meu Boi, Maracatu, Capoeira, and Afoxé. Applications are open until January 23 at www.editalculturaemmovimento.com.br.
Each cultural practitioner may apply in up to two categories, but may be selected in only one of them. Evaluation criteria include the group's track record and length of cultural activity, project accessibility, broadening access to culture, and alignment with expressions recognized as intangible cultural heritage. The publication of selected projects is scheduled for February 12, 2026.
The initiative is part of the Culture and Memory Preservation axis of the Plano de Ações Sociourbanísticas (PAS) and aims to support and promote Maceió's artistic and traditional cultural expressions.
About PAS
PAS is the result of the studies provided for in the Socioenvironmental Agreement, signed by the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) and Braskem, with the participation of the State Public Ministry (MPE) and the Municipality of Maceió's adherence.
The plan brings together more than 40 initiatives, including the construction or renovation of day care centers, markets, public squares, and health clinics, as well as measures in the cultural, social, economic, and urban planning sectors. Some actions are carried out by the company; others by the Municipality of Maceió. The budget is BRL 198 million and is updated annually.
