In the Spirit of Brazil's June Festivities, Focinho Responsável Hosts Pet Adoption Fairs This Weekend

Events take place Saturday and Sunday and promote responsible adoption of dogs and cats

Maceió, June 26, 2026 - Focinho Responsável is embracing the spirit of Brazil's traditional June festivals with its special Adoption Festival (Arraiá da Adoção). Two editions of the themed adoption fair are scheduled for this weekend in Maceió. On Saturday (June 27), the event will take place at Vera Arruda Promenade, in the Jatiúca neighborhood, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On Sunday (June 28), "Focinho Responsável" will join the Arraiá Raiz Festival at Parque Shopping, in Cruz das Almas, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The events aim to bring together rescued dogs and cats that are ready for adoption with their future families. The animals available for adoption have already been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed, in addition to receiving veterinary care.

"Focinho Responsável" also provides free transportation to the pet's new home, along with veterinary support during the first three months after adoption. To encourage responsible pet ownership, the program offers prospective adopters a trial period of up to three days with the animal before making a final decision. If the match is not successful, the pet is safely returned to the program and continues to receive all necessary care and support.

The channel features regularly updated photos and information about the pets, as well as guidance on responsible pet ownership and details about the adoption process.

Commitment to Animal Welfare

"Focinho Responsável" is part of the Animal Support Program, a partnership between Braskem and the Equine and Integrative Health Research and Extension Group at the Federal University of Alagoas (Grupequi-Ufal). The initiative was created in 2020 to support families relocated under the Financial Compensation Program (PCF) and has provided temporary shelter, veterinary care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services ever since. It has also rescued abandoned or stray animals found in vacated areas.

Currently, the Program cares for 444 animals, mainly dogs and cats, some of which are available for responsible adoption. Since its creation, Focinho Responsável has organized 37 adoption fairs and participated in several educational and community outreach initiatives, helping more than one thousand animals find a new home.
