Financial Compensation Program reaches 19,136 accepted claims as of March

Maceió, April 8, 2026 - The Financial Compensation and Relocation Assistance Program (PCF) has submitted 19,204 proposals to residents in the evacuation areas, representing 99.9% of the claims received through the end of March. Of this total, 19,136 (99.6%) have been accepted, and 19,124 (99.6%) compensations have already been paid. The difference between the number of proposals submitted and those accepted reflects the time families are given to review the amounts or request a reassessment.

Including compensation and financial assistance, the program has paid BRL 4.24 billion since its creation in 2019.

The service team continues to review reassessment requests and assist residents who have not yet been able to submit all required documentation to receive compensation. The goal of the PCF is to ensure that all residents covered by the Program are compensated as quickly as possible.

The risk area (criticality 00) identified on the Civil Defense map published in 2020 is now 100% vacated.

Ongoing care in the neighborhoods

The affected areas in Pinheiro, Bebedouro, Mutange, Bom Parto, and Farol continue to receive maintenance services, property security, and ongoing ground monitoring, supported by one of the most advanced monitoring networks in the country. This allows even minimal ground movement to be detected, enabling preventive measures when necessary.

Social, environmental, and urban planning initiatives are also underway, in line with the plan agreed upon with authorities and widely discussed with the community, to compensate for, mitigate, and address the impacts of relocation in the neighborhoods.

Vacated areas

Braskem also remains committed to not building in the vacated areas, whether for commercial or residential purposes (factories, retail establishments, homes, condominiums, and others) while the effects of subsidence persist. Any change to this determination by the authorities must first be approved in the Municipality's Master Plan, which is a planning instrument widely debated by society.

Updated data from the Financial Compensation and Relocation Assistance Program is included in the monitoring report that is presented monthly to the authorities* and can be accessed here .
