Braskem Reaffirms Commitment to Maceió and Highlights Alagoas' Strategic Importance to the Company's Future

Ongoing out-of-court restructuring process does not affect the initiatives undertaken by the Company in Maceió

Alagoas is a strategic region for the Company's business today and in the future and has historically played a key role in Brazil's petrochemical value chain

Maceió, September 21, 2026 - Braskem reaffirms that the commitments established under the agreements entered into with authorities in Maceió remain a priority and continue to be implemented. The ongoing out-of-court restructuring process is intended to strengthen the Company's financial structure and does not alter, interrupt, or scale back the initiatives undertaken under these agreements.

The amounts associated with the agreements are included in the provisions recognized by the Company. As of the end of June 2026, Braskem had disbursed BRL 14.6 billion of the BRL 18 billion provisioned. Initiatives continue to move forward in areas including urban mobility, education, healthcare, urban development, culture, and socioeconomic development.

Under the Financial Compensation and Relocation Assistance Program (PCF), more than 99% of compensation payments have already been made.

The Socio-Urban Action Plan (PAS) encompasses projects across four areas of activity. To date, four public facilities have been delivered, covering healthcare, social services, and education, as well as a space dedicated to sports, recreation, cultural activities, and community interaction. Additional projects are already under construction. PAS also continues to support cultural projects through the Cultura em Movimento call for proposals and other initiatives designed to promote local cultural expressions and community identity. The Plan also includes initiatives to strengthen public-sector management of psychosocial care services and early childhood programs.

Another recent project is the Link Road, which was handed over to the Municipality in July 2026. The project is part of a package of urban mobility investments provided for under an agreement entered into to implement measures aimed at restoring urban mobility in the city.

Major infrastructure projects to revitalize the area have also been completed under the Flexais Urban Integration and Development Project. The Project is now entering a new phase with the Giro Flexal program, which will support the community in developing its socioeconomic and cultural activities.

Braskem in Alagoas

Braskem's presence in Alagoas is closely intertwined with the history of Brazil's chemical and petrochemical industries. Although mining operations were permanently discontinued in 2019, the Company continues to operate industrial facilities in Maceió and Marechal Deodoro and remains part of a value chain that is strategically important to the state and to several sectors of the economy. Braskem therefore continues to invest in the competitiveness and development of its assets in Alagoas.

In Marechal Deodoro, the Company operates Latin America's largest PVC production facility, a strategic asset for the Brazilian petrochemical industry and several industrial sectors in the country. The facility has an annual production capacity of 460,000 metric tons and is the only plant in the region to use biomass in its energy mix as a renewable source of thermal energy. It is also of national significance, standing out as Latin America's largest producer of this product.

In addition to maintaining its operations, the Company is pursuing studies and initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency, advancing technological innovation, and expanding the use of renewable energy sources.

"Braskem's presence in Alagoas is an important part of both its history and its strategy for the future. Braskem recognizes the importance of the commitments it has made to Maceió and reaffirms that it will continue to act with transparency, responsibility, and dialogue, maintaining its focus on carrying out the planned deliverables, on people's safety, and on continuing its contribution to Alagoas' economic and social development. It is this forward-looking vision that guides Braskem's actions in this new phase," emphasizes Camilla Tápias, Braskem's Vice President of Legal Affairs, Institutional Relations and Communications.
