Maceió, January 22, 2019 - This afternoon (Tuesday), Braskem met with representatives of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the State of Alagoas (MP-AL) and the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, submitting a thorough survey on its operations in the state. At the meeting, the company has presented results of the technical analyses that confirm the safety of its operations and point the nonexistence, so far, of a link between its activities and the events observed in the district of Pinheiro. 

 Braskem considered the meeting - which was public and open for the press - positive and enlightening, reaffirming the support the company has been giving the authorities in the works of investigation into the causes of the occurrences in the region.

Having worked with mining since 1975, Braskem permanently monitors its operations. The company highlighted the fact that the mining operations are monitored by national and international specialized companies and by mining engineers, geologists and expert technicians, complying with the legal and technical rules in conformity with the best national and international standards.

 Braskem reaffirms its commitment to safety, sustainability and a responsible corporate operation, and reiterates its stance of continuing to collaborate with the public bodies with jurisdiction, to elucidate the causes and be a part of the solution for the problem.
