How do we produce the ethanol used for the development of plastics?

Sugarcane ethanol is produced alongside sugar for the food sector, and modern mills are energy self-sufficient, powering their processes by burning the left-over sugarcane fibers. The ethanol is converted into ethylene and then polymerized into polyethylene at Braskem.
