Braskem wins the FIA Foreign Trade Analysis Award

The award is disclosed in the Foreign Trade Analysis Yearbook, a respected publication geared towards the export and import market
Braskem was granted the FIA Foreign Trade Analysis Award in the "Largest Companies" category. It refers to the development of one of Braskem's most innovative products, UTEC, an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. The second largest producer of this resin in the world, Braskem exports nearly 90% of its UTEC to the United States and countries in Europe, Asia and South America.

In its second edition, the FIA Foreign Trade Analysis Award published in the Foreign Trade Analysis yearbook aims to valorize and recognize the effort by companies that increasingly expand Brazil’s presence in the global economy.

Besides the award, the company stands out in the yearbook as a leader in chemical sector exports and as the largest petrochemical sector exporting group. In the general ranking of the 250 largest Brazilian exporters, Braskem is in 18th.  Among the 250 largest importers, it ranks 14th.

The award is an initiative by Análise Editorial, which publishes sector guides including the Foreign Trade Analysis yearbook and the Administration Foundation Institute (FIA) yearbook through Proceb (Brazilian Foreign Trade Program). This year, the categories were defined according to company size and the institution's purpose, whether publicly- (government bodies) or privately-held (entities and associations).

The enrolled cases were analyzed by FIA and counted on a jury comprised of professionals linked to the public and private sectors: Alcides Tápias, former Minister of Development, former president of Camargo Corrêa and former vice-president of Bradesco, currently a partner at the Aggrego consulting group; Edson Vaz Musa, owner of Caloi, former president of Rhodia and member of the National Quality Award Foundation Board of Directors; Maílson da Nobrega, former Minister of Finance, currently a partner at the Tendências consulting group; Ozires Silva, former president of Petrobras and Embraer, former Minister of Infrastructure and current president of the  Santamarense Education and Culture Organization (Osec).
