Braskem is qualified once again to be part of the corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of Bovespa
Confirming its commitment with the sustainable development, Braskem was selected for the second consecutive year to be part of Bovespa's Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE)
ISE brings together the shares issued by companies that distinguish themselves in the promotion of sustainable development.
To make up the new index, the companies had to answer an extensive questionnaire developed by the Center of Sustainability Studies (Gvces) of the São Paulo School of Business Administration of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV - EAESP), with the aim of choosing the best roles in terms of sustainability and profitability. The importance given to the companies on social, environmental and governance issues is growing. The result of this is that the number of companies that are part of the index increased from 28 to 34.
For Luiz Henrique Valverde, Relations Director with Braskem investors, to be part of the share portfolio of the index for the second consecutive year is very important. "We are in ISE since the first edition. This result confirms the company’s commitment with sustainable development, proven by its programs in the areas of social responsibility and environmental responsibility, associated to different practices of corporative governance and corporate management.", he explains.
The consolidation of ISE shows that the appreciation of companies that are socially responsible and sustainable, on the part of investors, is a world trend because on the long run, these companies present a greater value generating potential for the shareholders.
