Braskem announces a program for the reacquisition of its shares
Braskem decided to implement from tomorrow on, a program for the reacquisition of part of its preferential shares class A and ordinaries circulating in the capital market. This 180 days program aims at gaining an important potential for value creation due to the current discount of the shares in the market.
"This initiative of buying back the shares is another evidence of the strategic vision of Braskem focused on the value creation for all the shareholders and on its long term commitment to the local and international capital market", says José Carlos Grubisich, president of Braskem. The program will allow the reacquisition of up to 13,9 million of PNA shares, that compose 8,75% of the shares of this kind circulating in the market, and of 1,4 million of shares ON, or around 7,1% of the shares of this kind circulating in the market. These percentiles, plus the volume of shares in treasury, totalize the 10% allowed by the law for reacquisition, for both shares classes.
The shares that come to be acquired will be kept in treasury for a latter alienation and/or cancellation, without reducing the social capital of the company. The authorized sharebrokers chosen to be the intermediary in the operations are Credit Suisse Brasil S/A CCTVM, Itaú CV S/A, Agora Sênior CTVM S/A, Hedging-Griffo CV S/A and UBS CCVM S/A. For accessing the program, investors in Brazil and abroad are expected to contact these partners.
"Braskem demonstrates, through this initiative, the confidence in the valorization potential of its shares and confirms its commitment to the alignment of every shareholder"s interests", concludes Grubisich.
