• The resident’s first contact with the FCRSP was through the social services technician. They held meetings with the family to understand the reality of the residents and they informed them about the services that could be requested, free of charge, at the FCRSP.
• The technicians could also be the bridge between residents and psychological care services, legal advice, and family pet care.
• Social services technicians helped residents prepare the initial documentation to join the FCRSP and with the steps to access the temporary financial aid, offered through the Program, as well as scheduling the household move.

• Specialized service to answer legal questions regarding the documents needed to receive compensation.

• Payment of legal fees of lawyer chosen by the family: The FCRSP provided for the payment of the resident’s lawyer fees, of up to 5% of the value of the compensation and limited to BRL 100,000.
• If the resident requested the support of a public defender, the FCRSP team could assist in making the first contact with the State Public Defender’s Office.
• The service continues for residents of the evacuation areas as defined by the Civil Defense in 2020.

• Residents who could not prove ownership or possession of the property, could access the Legal Possession Program, an initiative led by the Judiciary of the State of Alagoas, which expedited the issuance of the document legalizing ownership of properties for the FCRSP.

• Merchants and business owners assisted through the Financial Compensation and Relocation Support Program could count on a team of dedicated social services technicians. The aim was to relocate different types of businesses with greater agility, covering companies of all sizes. The exclusive support provided answers to questions, assistance in preparing documentation and strove to speed up advanced payments to merchants and business owners.
• The Program continues for residents of the evacuation areas as defined by the Civil Defense in 2020.

• The proposed compensation for the resident is made within 60 days, following the submission of the necessary documentation. The FCRSP team works to help residents present all documentation in as little time as possible.
• When the resident does not agree with the proposed compensation, the deadline for the reanalysis and presentation of a new proposal is 20 days.
• Once the proposal is accepted by the resident, the payment of the compensation is within five days of the ratification of the agreement by the Court.
• To calculate the value of properties owned by merchants and business owners who do not have formal proof of billing, estimated values are considered.

• Since the termination of rock salt mining in Maceió in May 2019, Braskem has adopted measures to permanently close the salt wells. Studies conducted by Brazilian and international institutes indicate the appropriate methods to be applied to each one of the 35 salt mines.
• A plan has been submitted to the authorities and approved by the National Mining Agency (ANM). Completion of the work is scheduled for mid-2026.

35 wells, at the following stages:

• 16 wells with pressurization closure. A total of 9 were completed (one of them is under reevaluation for subsequent approval by the National Mining Agency - ANM).
• 13 wells have been filled with sand. A total of 6 were completed (two of them reaching the technical completion limit. ANM approval will be requested).
• 6 wells have been naturally filled. A total of 5 were completed.

• All of the wells are being monitored technically with high-tech instruments to ensure the safety of the surroundings areas and the evacuation area. Periodic tests are reported to the ANM, showing the status of each of the cavities.

• One of the most modern ground monitoring networks is installed in the evacuation areas and the surrounding areas to monitor any movements and enable preventive measures to be taken. Data is shared in real time with the authorities.

Several types of high-tech equipment perform 24/7 measurements. These include:

• 13 tilt meters
• 19 surface seismographs
• 12 deep seismographs
• 4 inclinometers
• 77 DGPS

First Cooperation Agreement (TC1), signed in April 2019

• A weather station has also been installed and helps track weather events, in conjunction with preventive measures.

• Equipment that forms part of the monitoring network was donated to the Civil Defense, whose headquarters was also renovated.

• Evacuated properties will be demolished following the work plan submitted to the Environmental Institute (IMA).
• Some of these properties are being demolished urgently under the supervision of Municipal Civil Defense as a safety precaution.
• These properties will be replaced with vegetation cover.

• Approximately 2,000 properties located in Encosta do Mutange, a naturally unstable area, have been demolished.
• Overall, 66.5% of the unoccupied properties were demolished following the issuance of the required environmental licenses.

• The Mutange Slope, an area of 350,000 m2 naturally unstable, is undergoing stabilization and drainage works. Irregular constructions have been demolished and are giving way to a green area. A new drainage system is under construction and will be integrated into the existing system.

• About 2,000 properties were demolished on the Mutange Slope.
• More than 85% of the work is completed.

• In Flexais, road upgrading will be accompanied by public lighting repairs, with LED lighting on main roads and access streets.

• Road rehabilitation begins in May 2024. The initial interventions are taking place on Tobias Barreto and Faustino da Silveira streets, aimed at improving mobility for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers in the region.

A drone reinforces the manual application of insecticides in hard-to-reach locations.

• High resolution cameras and motion sensor alarms were installed on the main streets of the vacated neighborhoods and in Flexais.
• A Security and Monitoring Center has been installed to support actions, in collaboration with public safety, and operates 24 hours a day, every day of the week. At the center, a screen with four monitors allows 64 cameras to be accompanied, simultaneously, in real time, and processes information from all cameras and alarms.
• Neighborhood monitoring is also supported with drones.

• During the traditional June festivities of 2024, five groups supported by the program delivered approximately 30 presentations.

• Traffic lights are integrated with cameras that use artificial intelligence to check the volume of vehicles in circulation and program the flow according to the traffic on each road. The system can reduce travel time by up to 20%.
• The intelligent traffic light system will be monitored in real time at the Operational Control Center (CCO). Agents from the Municipal Department of Transportation and Traffic (DMTT) will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing this information.

To promote the inclusion of people with visual and motor impairments, Maceió’s package of urban mobility projects includes technologies to enhance accessibility. In total, 25.3 kilometers of sidewalks with tactile paving and accessible ramps will be built.

• 25.3 km of sidewalks with tactile flooring (2.2 km delivered on Avenida Durval de Góes Monteiro and 1.8 km on Avenida Menino Marcelo)
• 235 access ramps alone on the new side roads of the Durval de Góes Monteiro Avenue and the Menino Marcelo Avenue – and on the future link between them (this number will increase when the Camerino System project is completed)
