Braskem becomes aware of the suspension of the effects of the ANM Letter

NOTICE TO THE MARKET

São Paulo, January 5, 2021 - Braskem S.A. ("Braskem" or "Company"), (B3: BRKM3, BRKM5 and BRKM6; NYSE: BAK; LATIBEX: XBRK), complementing the Material Fact notice dated November 26, 2020 about a letter from the National Mining Agency regarding measures for the closure of its salt extraction activities in the state of Maceió and backfilling with solid material of a number of additional salt wells ("ANM Letter"), with an additional estimated amount of approximately R$3 billion, informs its shareholders and the market that, after a request for reconsideration prepared by Braskem ("Reconsideration Request"), the Company was informed that the effects of the ANM Letter have been suspended until a final evaluation of the technical arguments submitted by Braskem in the Reconsideration Request.

To the extent required by applicable law, the Company will keep the market informed of material developments concerning the geological event in Alagoas and related proceedings, as well as negotiations with other interested entities and individuals. The Company cannot predict with certainty future developments in respect of this matter or its related expenses, and the costs to be incurred by the Company may be different than currently estimated.
