Braskem, the largest thermoplastic resin producer in the Americas and the world's leading biopolymer producer, will be showcasing Proxess1509XP, a resin from the Proxess family, its brand of linear low density polyethylenes (LLDPE), at Feiplastic , Latin America's largest plastic trade fair, which is being held from April 22 to 26 at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo city.

Proxess1509XP is a metallocene that confers superior conditions during processing and ensures mechanical properties well suited to various different packaging structures and requirements.

"The design of Proxess1509XP brings important gains in terms of weldability and mechanical resistance, especially puncture strength and resistance to dart drop impact, as well as excellent optical properties, making it a multiple-application grade for producing films with complex structures that comply with processing requirements and end packaging needs. Its special additives confer greater stability in terms of coefficient of friction (CoF), especially for laminated films. The launch of Proxess1509XP ensures a robust portfolio and is part of the platform for expanding the Proxess Family," explained Marcelo Neves, head of Polyethylene Application Engineering.

Highly versatile, the resin adapts to a wide array of converting machines and features high operational stability and excellent film performance in final applications. The material, which is distributed in Brazil and South America, is used to make films primarily for automated food packaging. 

"Our competitive advantage in this segment is the synergy across the Polyethylene families, which because of their diversity leverage the performance of our solutions. The grades in the Proxess family are known for high processing speeds and lower energy consumption," explained Neves.

Circular Economy
In line with Braskem's positioning on the Circular Economy , Proxess1509XP was designed with the 3Rs (Reduction, Reuse and Recycling) in mind, is 100% recyclable and can easily be combined with Green PE and the Wecycle platform while still guaranteeing superior film quality. The combination leverages the use of recycled materials in high-quality packaging.
